choose must

Wouldn’t it be amazing to be able to fill your days with hobbies and have your time driven by passion? Some people certainly are lucky enough to have a career that they are extremely passionate about. I love my students, and teaching is a very rewarding profession, but I won’t lie, I’m a dreamer – dreaming mostly of working with flowers and food!

I’m also an early riser. I love the mornings. This quiet time of day makes me feel very calm and I can be extremely productive. My mind is clear and creativity flows. This is when I decide on blog post ideas and colour schemes and decor for future collaborations. In the morning I’m a dreamer before setting off for work.

I recently heard the phrase “choose must” and it has really stuck with me. It was described as the idea of following our creative desires and making passion a must. I’m definitely choosing must, regardless of not knowing exactly where I am going with my creative collaborations. I need these projects to fuel my life outside of my day job. What would you consider your “musts”? What makes you tick? What do you find yourself getting lost in? A few of my musts include; travel, cooking, setting up beautiful meals and photographing them, working with flowers, bringing people together over food, collaboration and projects with my mom!

This week was work-focused and I chose to fill my weekend spending time with friends and family. This means there wasn’t time for a creative project, but a balance is important to me. I do have some exciting collaborations coming up and I did spend some time planning and organizing for them. I am so excited to share them with you soon! Until then, here are a few links for you to check out as you prepare for the week ahead! xx

Are you planning to start a new series this fall?

A staple smoothie in our house! (I opt to leave out the chia.)

Has anyone read Chasing Slow? I keep hearing about it – is it worth a read?

The National’s new album Sleep Well Beast has been on repeat at our house. Have you given it a listen?
